I call it the Penultimate, Uberfrustrating Job Search Catch-22.
If you're stuck in the middle of it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's a bear. It's a beast. It's a badger (okay, maybe not that - but you get the point). It's an endless, ever-annoying cycle with no solution seemingly available. You know what I'm talking about, right? If not, are you ready?
Drum roll, please...
Trying to get into an industry or position that requires actual career experience without possessing the actual career experience.
It's a catch-22, no doubt. I mean - seriously - what are hirers thinking? In one breath they explain the need for so many years of actual industry experience before even considering hiring you. But then the only way to gain that experience is to acquire that job. Ha ha, they giddily snicker after you exit the job interview. Did you see his reaction when we pulled out the experience card!
Yes, I know exactly what you are going through. How on earth do you ever get out of this endless vortex of job search frustration?
There is a solution - believe it or not. And you're not alone. I have personally helped hundreds of clients in your exact position. And you know what - I'm going to be a nice guy and share the details of how to do this right here in my blog.
Whether you're brand spankin' new in the job market (recent graduate, for example), transitioning certain skills toward another position, or simply having a midlife career crisis - your going to run into this kafkaesque issue. Allow me to show you the solution!
And thus begins a new article series on this subject. It's about time, Jesse. I thought you'd never write another thing on this blog!
(to be continued)
